In 2004, Keep The Music Playing, keyboardist Gail Jhonson’s highly acclaimed debut contemporary jazz CD on her own (Philly The Kid Records), brought her into the international recording spotlight.
Although Gail’s fascination with the piano and experience as music director, keyboardist and vocalist for smooth jazz super star guitarist and vocalist Norman keep her busy, she still finds it fulfilling to provide educational opportunities and mentorship to upcoming rising stars and exciting to touch lives through her gift of music
- Gail played her first professional gig by age 14,
- She is a graduate of the Berklee College of Music
- She’s toured with Norman Brown, Mindi Abair, Bobby Womack, Ray Parker Jr, Pink, Milli Vanilli, Morris Day (Time) & Rain Pryor, Vesta, Howard Hewitt, Bobby Lyle, OC Smith, Paul Jackson Jr., Pamela Williams, Phil Perry, Althea Renee, Paul Taylor
- Gail leads the all female ensemble “Jazz in P!nk”, featuring such artists as Karen Briggs, Althea Rene & Mariea Antoinette.
- She has her own band “3 Piece Suit” in Los Angeles.
- She is an educator and author of 3 music method books
- A composer for the musical Overcome, Overjoyed-showing at The El Portal Theatre/North Hollywood.
